General Council

As under section 10 of the DNLU Act, 2018, there shall be a General Council. It shall be composed of:

Chairman: Chancellor or his nominee as appointed by him shall be the Chairman of the Council.
Members: The council shall have members who shall be
Minister-in-charge of higher education for government of Madhya Pradesh.
Minister-in-charge of law and legislative affairs for government of Madhya Pradesh.
2 judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh as nominated by Chief Justice, one of whom is a judge-in-charge of Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy.
Chief Secretary to the Government of Madhya Pradesh
Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh
Principal Secretary of law and legislative affairs under the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Additional Chief Secretary or Principle Secretary of finance department of Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Additional Chief Secretary or Principle Secretary of Higher Education department of Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Chairman of State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh or his nominee
Director, National Judicial Academy, Bhopal
Vice-Chancellor of any National Law University as nominated by the Chancellor
Chairperson of University Grants Commission
3 eminent lawyers as nominated by the Chancellor
Vice-Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University.

As under section 22 of DNLU Act, 2018, there shall be an Academic Council. It shall be the academic body of the University and shall be composed of:

Vice -Chancellor as Chairman
3 persons from amongst the educationists of repute or men of letters or members of the learned professions or eminent public men, who are not in service of the university, nominated by the Chancellor.
The Principal Secretary of Law and Legislative Affairs Department Government of Madhya Pradesh.
A nominee of State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh.
All the Heads of Department of the University.
All Professors other than the Heads of Department.
Two members of teaching staff, representing Associate Professors to be nominated by the Chancellor.
The Dean of the Faculties
The Dean of the Students Welfare
The Registrar of the University who shall be the Secretary of the Academic Council.

As under section 14 of DNLU Act, 2018, there shall be an Executive Council which shall be composed of:

The Vice-chancellor as Chairman
The Advocate General of Government of Madhya Pradesh
The Principal Secretary of Law and Legislative Affairs Department Government of Madhya Pradesh.
The Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary of Finance Department of Government of Madhya Pradesh.
The Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary of Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Chairman of State Bar Council, Madhya Pradesh
Dean of Students' Welfare of the university
Two full time teachers of university on rotation basis in accordance with seniority
Registrar of the University who shall also be the Secretary of the Executive Council.

As under section 25 of DNLU Act, 2018, there shall be a Finance Committee which shall be composed of:

The Vice-Chancellor
One member nominated by the Executive Council from amongst its members
One officer each of the Finance Department and Higher Education Department (not below the rank of Deputy
Secretary) Government of Madhya Pradesh as nominated by the State Government.
One member nominated by the General Council
The Registrar of the University.
The Finance Controller of the University as Secretary of the Finance Committee.
