General Council

Under Section 10 of the DNLU Act, 2018, there shall be a General Council which shall be composed of:

• Chancellor or his nominee as appointed by him shall be the Chairman of the Council.
• Minister-in-charge of law and legislative affairs for the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
• Minister-in-charge of higher education for government of Madhya Pradesh.
• 2 judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh as nominated by Chief Justice, one of whom is a judge-in-charge of Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy.
• Chief Secretary to the Government of Madhya Pradesh
• Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh
• Principal Secretary of law and legislative affairs under the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
• Additional Chief Secretary or Principle Secretary of finance department of Government of Madhya Pradesh.
• Additional Chief Secretary or Principle Secretary of Higher Education department of Government of Madhya Pradesh.
• Chairman of State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh or his nominee
• Director, National Judicial Academy, Bhopal
• Vice-Chancellor of any National Law University as nominated by the Chancellor
• Chairperson of University Grants Commission
• 3 eminent lawyers as nominated by the Chancellor
• Vice-Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University.
